I had such a hard time only checking my email at night and during the day. I left myself sticky notes, wrote it in my planner and let's be honest... I found myself on my email throughout the day. All the sudden I was just checking my email and I was like holy cow how did I even get on here?! It's a reflex that I never noticed. When I get on the computer I automatically go straight to email. I never really chat so that was ok. And I didn't even want to try only checking facebook twice because I get texts for anything that happens on facebook. When I posted my results of Facebook and asked people how they would do I got a couple of responses saying that they were obsessed with it and they thought others were as well. We are addicted because it is part of our everyday lives! We use it for work, school, church, communicating long-distance with famiy and friends... the list goes on.

I had the same exact issue. It was a reflex that I had no idea was ingrained into my habits. Kind of scary actually...
I totally agree with you, Facebook has become such a common activity throughout the day. It is a habit, which I don't think necessarily to be bad. As you said, we use it for work, school, and even to contact friends that are abroad.
