Whitney Evans About ten years ago a study was done among British companies involved in sport sponsorship. 82% of those interviewed said they had "no interest" in sponsoring women's sports; of these, 57% said they would have an interest if women's sports showed greater "sex appeal". Let's hear your thoughts...

- Jennifer Scott I think thats ridiculous. I think Women play as well as men and should get the same attention as men without having to show off their bodies. This is sports not some pornography place. They should support women as much as they support men. Women are often have stories behind getting to where they are, often more so then men! Women rule!Saturday at 5:34pm ·
- Brook Dorff why do you think i chose field hockey as my sport??? short skirts, yes please.Saturday at 5:37pm ·

- Steve Chrysler Sadly enough, it is all about revenue. Sports are a very masculine part of society which tends to be more relatable to men. The reason for the suggestion for greater sex appeal is to appeal to more of what women bring more naturally to the table. Not to say that it is right or wrong, just an attempt to increase the revenue for women that would bring to sponsors. Just my two cents.Saturday at 5:54pm ·
- Krista Perkins I agree with the statistics, sad but true. More people watch male sports then female. More men then women watch sports and men tend to like the sex appeal. Sad, sad, truth.Saturday at 6:26pm ·
- John Howard Eckersley I know a good game of beach volleyball is always entertaining :)Saturday at 6:34pm ·
- Rebekah Evans In some education books I read over the summer for a class, the authors pointed out that not only is affirmative action working positively for Blacks, but also for women. For women, I believe it's really only been working in our favor for the last 40 years or so. That may be one reason for the comments regarding a lack of interest in women's sports, we're still catching up?!Sunday at 12:00am ·
- Anna Horton Sports are about athletic ability. The attention should be given on an individual's skills and not their attractiveness. Let the modeling industry, a messed up on for sure, focus on physical appearance. Men and women are different; thus, they should not be compared. Society needs to learn to compare women athletes with other women athletes. We need to learn to appreciate our differences.Sunday at 1:07am ·
- Derek Lloyd So, are the sponsors sexist? Or are they putting their money where the people are watching?
I'd say the latter. The same study says that 85 per cent of the sponsors said they prefer men's sport because it gets better media coverage.Sunday at 3:41pm ·
