Life Without BYU Football

I thought about life on campus without BYU Football and I think I agree with one response that I received in saying "I think I would be a little bit sad". With that in mind though I did not receive many responses that really jumped out to me in a way that caused great thinking. One person even said "Meh" which in my mind came out as, "I dont really care"

Sadly I did not get as much response as I wish I would have as it is something that I am a big fan of. It made me think and analyze though on why I am here at BYU and really I could conclude that life would be just fine without the games to go even with BYU football being a big part of our culture.

I do remember though one broadcast in which the broadcasters showed the results of a recent survey given on campus. Religion was found to be of the most importance to the students and BYU Football was the 2nd most important thing to those who answered. All in all, I am sure that the survey could have been given in a biased way but either way it does show that BYU football is of most importance to many people in this valley, state and even world. AKA "The World Is Our Campus"

I'm curious to see how they polled their responces whether it actually represented the entire population on campus, county, state. It might also be interesting to see how many were just freshman repsonding to that study. For me, don't care, I think we over emphasize the sports aspect. I find it interesting that we live now to watch others do things more than ourselves doing things. I can understand old people watching sports, and seeing that as an outlet for them to feel YOung. and to experience things long past. But I find it sad when people wrap their lives around a team things. O well to each their own. I most likely am a minority in this matter.
