Everyone's A Little Bit Racist
I'll be honest, only four people commented on my post. Pretty pathetic huh? The four comments that were on my post were all really racist remarks. One person wrote everything phonetically as if she were an Asian attempting to speak English. Another person literally wrote in response to my post, "nigger please." I don't really know if these people were attempting to be funny, however, I was not impressed that my own friends lived up to our conversation in class about how people are not color blind. If I were to give my conclusion in this social experiment determining if everyone is a little bit racist I would conclude that it is true. Some may say that facebook is not a good platform to ask such a serious question because nobody takes facebook statuses seriously. However, I would disagree. If you truly want to see if someone is racist ask them the question where they feel comfortable enough responding how they really feel. People will write anything over the internet. I felt like I got a true glimpse into the racist minds of my very own friends. My friends are good people and this is why I conclude that everyone is a little bit racist.

I think that you are right, everyone is a little bit racist. Stereotypes will never go away.
I found this very interesting. People never think about this question but I think when they really take the time to they realize they are... everyone is... and they don't want to respond!! The fact that four ppl responded might be an answer in itself...
I agree, I think no matter what color you are everyone has their own prejudice and stereotypes based off of their experiences throughout their life.
And I can also agree about facebook maybe not being the most appropriate place to be serious!
I agree that facebook is a perfect place for the reasons you mentioned. Also it is sad to see what some of our friends will say and I think the reason is because they might just laugh it off as you are friends.
ya, I found that the people most affected my racism were the ones to comment(i.e. come from interracial marriages)
I both agree and disagree. Some of my friends were brutally honest on facebook. But those friends would say what they said no matter the medium. It had nothing to do with how comfortable they were with facebook. Yet the others of my friends who made comments seemed to be making "the right responses" like "racism is a choice." It seemed like they were less comfortable saying what they really think because it is a public forum (of sorts).
Wow. I guess we have a case in point right here that everyone is a little bit racist!
