My Name is Cameron and I'm an Addict

I went off of facebook for a day. I've tried to go on it less since we talked about it in class. I didn't consciously realize I was addicted, but trying not to look at it for a whole day was actually hard. Every time I was online that day I would go to hit the "f" key on my computer. I use facebook so much that I know if I hit "f" while on my internet browser facebook comes up and I hit enter and I'm there. I had to make a concerted effort not to press "f" multiple times throughout the day. It was pathetic. I'm embarrassed to know how much of an addict I have become.

On my facebook status I asked if anyone else felt addicted . People responded, but they sounded like they were in denial. My friend Craig, who I know is addicted to facebook, said, "I'm not addicted, I just like keeping caught up with everyone and this is the best way to do it." I know for a fact that if you took Craig's facebook away from him he'd be annoyed.

I'm glad we talked about facebook so much because it made me realize I need to use it less. It's easy to pretend like it's not a huge influence in our lives or that we aren't addicted to it. It just sounds so bad to be labeled a facebook addict. I used to never use it but now I'm pretty sure I'm an addict. I need to go on a mission again so I can stop relying on it.

Ya, i'm going to agree. my computer and most of the computers that I use if you put a F in the browser it automatically brings facebook up.

It is interesting that during circumstances in our life like a mission or going to another country or being without a computer we are totally fine without facebook and learn to live without it, but put a computer in front of us and we hardly need to even think about it before our fingers start typing it in.

the forbidden F strikes again! i think when most of us type in F we are automatically directed to fbook.

Hahaha second mission is definitely the answer! After reading all these posts though... you are in good company. I automatically type in facebook as well and like five minutes later I'm like what did I get on the computer for again?
