As painful as it is to admit, I felt lost, dazed, and confused last Thursday as I completed the Facebook fast. I have Facebook on my phone so it almost felt like one of the hardest things I've had to do.
Facebook, in reality, has no need to take up so much of my time. But why does it? I mean, it's just updating your status every once in a while (or way too often for some), uploading new pictures of you and all your friends doing more fun activities than your "cyber" friends, and stalking potential boy toys. Why does it draw me in so frequently? Why did it affect me so much, if it's as petty as I just described?
On the contrary, when I didn't use Facebook as often as I normally do, I became more productive. When I didn't have my Facebook open while writing an article or studying for my test, I, clearly, felt more focused and more into the material. Naturally, I did better with my school work. So it's a trade-off, being less connected to the outside world v. being more focused with your work.
When I asked my friends if they're addicted to the social network I had the opportunity to ask them on, a unanimous "yes" gives me reason to believe that we are all addicted. I can remember when Facebook wasn't even thought of, and now it is such a part of our lives that many cannot go 20 minutes without refreshing their Facebook to see the newest feed among their friends. It's sad, but I can say that because I am one of them.

Facebook is super addicting if you have it linked to your phone. I feel like i check it to much as is and am glad that i have a ghetto phone that doesn't have facebook updates.
agreed. when facebook is in your pocket it becomes even harder to stay away from.
Definitely agree with the mobile part of it all!!! That's my deal too!
It is crazy how alike all of the posts on this blog are. The society we are all a part is full of Facebook/email/chat/text/etc. and it's hard to escape!
