Mainlining Media

I got the responses I would've guessed after I posted that I am slightly addicted to technology. It actually took awhile for people to even respond...even up until last night. The people who did respond wholeheartedly agreed they were addicts as well.

The reason I say I'm slightly addicted to technology is because there have been times when I just don't check my e-mail for a few days or forget to look at my phone calls/messages for several hours. Sometimes people even get mad at me because they were not able to reach me. On the other hand, during the day we did our mini "media fast," I found myself wanting to check my e-mail way more often and it actually bothered me that I couldn't check Facebook. But what are my friends doing right now?!? Well...maybe it wasn't that bad, but I did have those urges to get on, even though there was no reason to.

I think that your friends might get upset because on average people are constantly opening and using Facebook or emailing. I guess that the fact that you were prohibited to use media, sort of made it more present throughout your day.
